It’s modern-day kitsch. There’s not a lot of things to see in Las Vegas that are free anymore, but the GSPS is a fine, harmless diversion. The last time I was there I was tempted to buy an Old Man silver coin, but I’d already blown my gambling winnings at the gold vending machine at the Golden Nugget. I’ve been there three times, and never had more than two people in line ahead of me.
I’ve never understood why people (seems to be mostly locals) hate that pawn shop. Reminds me of that old 80’s song lyric, “We hate it when our friends become successful.”
